In an overwhelming show of support, especially given the difficult economic times, 4,725 of the 10,500 (45%) Memorial Healthcare System employees contributed to “Believe, You Can Make a Difference,” the Memorial and Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital Foundation’s capital campaign. Staff at the healthcare system’s six area hospitals and 16 outpatient facilities donated $1,620,000 during a recent two-month period, money that will help fund construction of a new Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital, Memorial Cancer Institute, and Memorial Cardiac and Vascular Institute.
